Magic, Death and Love dance together All Soul’s Night.
This piece was part of the 2025 Witch Series. The witch in folklore and popular culture is a figure of transgression, freedom, pleasure, queerness, and female empowerment. Like the fairy tale villain she so often plays, the witch is a figure relegated to the periphery – living outside of the social order – and yet she refuses erasure; instead, the witch inserts herself into the center of our stories and collective imagination. Drawing upon the aesthetics of the Golden Age of Illustration, vintage photography, pin-up and comics art, this series explores the witch’s enduring legacy as a figure that both delights and challenges the viewer to explore their own desires and yearnings for liberation.
The original art work for this series was created with Copic markers. Sumi ink, colored pencil, and paint pens. The the fugitive nature of these materials means the originals will fade and degrade over time. However, this signed and limited edition print series has been produced with archival inks and paper achieving the permanence originals lack.
